Expectations
  • Each distributor must demonstrate an ability to network actively within his/her allocated Territory. Building relationships across the broad spectrum of the marketplace will create opportunities to supply the vast array of Tension Membrane structures required by potential clients.
  • Though the SKYShades’ Distribution System will provide ample ‘tried and tested’ marketing strategies and materials, the distributor should have nurtured bonds with the decision-makers in the areas of education, community and commerce to create the opportunities to impress upon them the FUNCTIONAL benefits of shade structures.
  • Apart from these, the distributor will benefit most from nurturing close associations with Architects, Landscape Architects, Construction Executives and Developers who may seek to capitalize on the AESTHETIC advantages derived from ‘dynamic’ Tension Membrane structures – as opposed to the uninteresting ‘static’ materials of steel, timber, concrete and glass. Mention has already been made of SKYShades’ approved status with the American Institute of Architects in qualifying to provide much sought-after instruction on the characteristics of Tension Membrane structures. Such curricula are of course available to all distributors.
  • As the SKYShades’ DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM provides the actual design/engineering/installation expertise for each project, it is essential for the distributor to utilize his/her networking capabilities to exploit and capitalize on the potential market within his/her Territory. Hence a thorough marketing platform must form the basis for expansion within each Territory. The intensive Training Seminar undertaken by each distributor and his/ her representative will focus heavily on developing this marketing platform.
  • It must be appreciated that the provision of Tension Membrane structures aligns the Distributor and the SKYShades’ DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM solidly with the Construction Industry. Consequently, there will be a requirement for the distributor to have a close working relationship with a General Contractor so that the finer details of measuring, permitting and actual installation may proceed with the minimum of difficulty. Though all these issues will be addressed comprehensively in the Training Seminars and the Operations Manual, the maximizing of profits will be greatly advanced by such ‘on site’ relationships.
